Noida-based Physics Wallah plans to hire 1,000 employees over the next six to nine months to enhance capacity in existing businesses and support new initiatives, co-founder Prateek Maheshwari told TOI.
The company currently employs around 15,000 people and will recruit across various functions, including marketing, sales, technology, and business development.
Alongside expanding its workforce, Physics Wallah intends to pursue acquisitions, especially in South India, where it identifies considerable market potential.
Maheshwari noted that the company is interested in merging with content-rich organisations, such as publishing houses.
Notably, despite raising substantial capital, founders Alakh Pandey and Maheshwari retain 85% of the company’s equity, with only 15% diluted to institutional investors—a rarity among Indian unicorns valued at £1 billion or more.
